Process Guidelines

Slotting

To facilitate the large number of recruiters interested in hiring from our campus and for operational ease, the recruitment processes of the companies are not scheduled on the same day, but held over the placement week in slots. It is attempted to communicate the slots well in advance to the organisation, ideally 3 weeks before their scheduled visit to campus for recruitment.

Placement Slot

The duration of the selection process allowed to an organisation, termed the slot, is indicated to the recruiting organisation in the invitation for Placements.

Dream

A dream is an option available to a candidate. After getting an offer from an organisation, He can choose to appear for the process of at most one organisation which he prefers over the current offer. The candidate is deemed to have opted out of all the other selection processes.

Pre- Placement offers (PPO)

Pre-placement offers are made by the organisation to candidates who have done a summer internship with them. It has to be made on or before January 31. Students with PPOs are allowed a restricted set of applications in Final Placements and can accept at most one offer during final placements.

Companies interested in recruiting such candidates at a lateral level may choose to do so in the months of January and February, subject to our PGP schedule and convenience of the organisation.

A candidate receiving a HEPP offer during this period has the option of participating in the placement week without forfeiting the HEPP offer. Once he receives an offer during the placement week, he can choose one between the HEPP offer and the placement week offer, where upon the other automatically stands forfeited.

Pre-Placement Talks

Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain deeper knowledge about the prospective employers. It allows an organisation to take a first-hand look at the institute and the existing talent pool. The representatives get a chance to spend some quality time with the students and the faculty. PPTs are scheduled to suit the convenience of the organisation without affecting the PGP schedule.
