The New Programs in AI at IIM Lucknow are envisioned as a transformative initiative that extends beyond conventional academic programs. This ensures graduates not only understand management but redefine it through the lens of AI.

The rapid digitization of global business is powered by AI‑driven project management, automated marketing, customer analytics, fintech, human‑resource analytics and technology‑enabled product development. Yet most management programs treat technology as an adjunct rather than a central discipline.

IIM Lucknow will develop undergraduate and postgraduate that unify advances in AI, data analytics and management. The objective is not merely to teach tools but to produce leaders capable of driving transformation with strategic insight, ethical grounding and the ability to design and implement large‑scale change across sectors. Bachelor of Science (BS) in Artificial Intelligence & Business Analytics (4 years):

The flagship four-year BS program will be offered as a fully residential leveraging the features of India's first AI City and the region's vibrant start-up and incubation ecosystem. The location also provides strategic advantages in attracting technology-focused faculty, fostering industry collaboration on live projects, and ensuring strong integration with the broader innovation network.

An interdisciplinary undergraduate program combining rigorous coursework in AI, data science and business analytics with new age management practices and hands-on learning. It equips students with technical depth and managerial acumen and prepares them for leadership roles in consulting, product management, entrepreneurship and research.

BS program will develop strong technical proficiency in AI, data analytics and digital technologies while fostering a continuous learning mindset and deep ethical awareness. Students will learn to harness data for strategic decisionmaking and to build AI solutions that augment human judgment. The curriculum emphasises global perspectives exposing students to international case studies and collaborative projects so they understand how AI transforms industries across cultures. By graduation, they will be able to synthesize technical and business knowledge to create AIdriven business strategies that address social and environmental challenges.

Applicants applying for BS program must meet following criteria

Be an Indian Citizen
have completed the 10+2 system (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026 with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as main subject
Qualified JEE Advanced.

Courses

BS program is designed with building strong foundation in Mathematics and Statistics. Students are equipped with various programming skillslike Python, OOPs, Vibe coding etc. On top of this students are exposed with Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence leading them to be true BS graduate in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics. Figure 1 shows the layered approach of BS degree.

BS program spans eight semesters. Each course comprises 45 hours including lectures, tutorials and lab work. Courses marked with an asterisk include hands‑on lab. Table 2 presents semester wise course detail.

Dual Degree Options: Students can pursue integrated pathways including a combined BS in AI with a Tech-MBA offering comprehensive technical and business expertise for leadership roles in AI-driven enterprises.

International Graduate Pathways: BS + 1 year MS or MBA programs offered through partnerships with leading global universities, providing students with international exposure and cross-cultural perspectives in AI applications and business strategy will be explored.

Pedagogy

Teaching in these new programs integrates lectures, case studies, hands-on laboratories, design studios, and real-world consulting projects to provide comprehensive learning experiences. Courses is linked to hands-on lab work, ensuring students gain both conceptual understanding and technical proficiency.

Students participate in capstone integration projects that require combining knowledge from multiple domains including computer vision, natural language processing, and cognitive systems to address complex challenges such as smart city management and inclusive healthcare solutions.
