The Computer Centre is housed in a spacious 7500 sq. ft., centrally air conditioned building and is equipped with the state-of-the-art computing resources to cater the needs of the academics as well as administrative activities of the Institute.
The hardware resources of the Institute include Computers (from Pentium to Xeon processors, 4 to 48 GB RAM, 80 to 2 TB Storage), Servers, Blade Servers, Data Centers, Firewall, Network Infrastructures, High Speed Network Printers and Scanners etc. The software resources include a wide variety of management oriented software along with Microsoft Campus agreement. Therefore all users can use genuine Microsoft Products (WindowsOS, MS-Office, Visual Studio, Anti-Virus etc.) free of cost. All students are provided an email, MS-office 365, Wifi & other services login account with sufficient storage space on joining the Institute and round the clock access to the wired / wireless network and Internet.
Network/ Internet Specifications
- The IT infrastructure at IIML Computer Centre includes a fiber optics backbone based campus-wide network, connecting Computers on heterogeneous platforms with several servers.
- The network provide accessibility of more than 1500 wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) network nodes to each of these servers for sharing different hardware and software resources.
- Authentication based secured access to the Internet.
- High speed Leased Line of 4 Gbps from PowerGrid Corporation Limited and 1 Gbps from NKN (National Knowledge Network).
- 100 Mbps P2P Link between Noida and Lucknow Campus.
- Cisco Firewall for Network Security.
- Approximately 46 Switches, 736 Access Points and Fiber backbone consists Campus Network.
- Each hostel room, offices, residence etc. are connected with wired/wireless Network.
