Give me a day at IIML and I will give you back 48 hours. When I look back now, the only things that come to my mind distinctly are my arrival in Lucknow for the first time and the moments of leaving the campus for term break. Rest all is a gigantic capsule of quizzes, assignments, end-terms, parties, B-school events etc. It took no time for the jungle of woods and concrete - IIML to change everything. The sleeping hours has changed, the language has changed, the tolerance for failures has changed, the amount of adrenaline flow during parties has changed ... in a nutshell the attitude has changed. The range of shades and textures covered by the stay at this place has a wide horizon. The extremes of weather, marks, hunger, sleep, responsibilities, pressure, parties entail a difference in attitude. Moreover, the yellow pages of business newspapers no more jeopardize my penchant for reading newspapers. I have started smiling at the jargons of business magazines instead of frowning at them. But I still wonder about the source of high energy levels in the people around me. More noteworthy fact is that their energy spark is contagious in nature. The life here deprives you of even the remotest chance of respite but at the end you feel relieved by having contact details of corporate biggies- some present and some prospective ones. |
