The group endeavors to imbibe, create and disseminate knowledge related to functional areas of finance and accounting, within the broad field of Management. The group contributes in these areas to the Institute's Post Graduate Programme, Management Development Programme, Research and Consulting activities. The emphasis all through this contribution is on the empirical aspects of the financial theories, identification of best managerial practices in the area and global practices of applications.

The group comprises of faculty members with diverse backgrounds and interest in Accounting, Control, Corporate Finance, Financial Services, Valuation etc. In addition to six compulsory courses, it offers elective courses in Investment Management, Taxation and Tax Planning, Corporate Valuation, International Finance, Management Control System, Insurance Management, Financial Statement Reporting and Analysis and Management of Financial Services. The group is actively engaged in building its research base in the areas of banking, risk management and infrastructure financing.
